Precast Carpenter
Description
Position Summary:
The Precast Carpenter position is a full time, year round opportunity at the Winnipeg plant branch (1200 Redonda St.) of Haywood Concrete Products Ltd.
This person is responsible for building, assembling, and maintaining concrete molds (forms) used in the production of precast concrete components. This includes working from blueprints and shop drawings, cutting and fitting materials accurately, and ensuring forms are structurally sound and meet production specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and assemble wood forms for precast concrete production.
- Interpret and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and production plans.
- Measure, cut, and shape form materials accurately using hand and power tools.
- Install block-outs, chamfers, and embedded items in forms as per specifications.
- Inspect forms for wear or damage and make necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Work closely with other team members including welders, casters, and crane operators.
- Ensure forms are clean, properly coated with release agent, and ready for casting.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following company safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Proven carpentry experience (at least two years)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measuring tools
- Adept with hand tools, power tools, and carpentry machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, bending / crouching often
Preferred Skills (Not Required):
- Experience with precast concrete production
